SIROLO la perla del conero
Standing high above the sea, a balcony looking down on the Adriatic, proud of its beaches, its bays, its rocks and coves, lies right at the heart of the Conero Park.
The old town centre, scrupulously restored, seems to relive the atmosphere of bygone times.
The little piazza, an elegant fashionable location, is the meeting point for taking the aperitif in the evening with a panoramic view of the sea, before savouring the tasty dishes produced by Sirolo’s chefs or attending an accurate performance at the Teatro Cortesi.
Beaches
Thanks to steep rocky cliffs of the mount diving into the sea, It's a singular "break" in an otherwise flat, sandy landscape of Adriatico.
It is an attraction for the modern naturalistic tourists with its flora and fauna, with its scenic point of view, with changing landscapes of its seashore reached by boats or along small paths descending steeply from the top of Monte Conero.
There are unforgettable images, along the coast of "le due sorelle", which took its name from two huge twin rocks rising from the transparent water with its splendid and solitary beach, its almost turquoise water.
It’s possible to reach this lovely beach only through a difficult path called with the same name and descending the natural reserve of the “Parco”.
Portonovo seashore is surely one of the most outstanding spots: throught easy paths dipped in the intense green of the Mediterranean marquis, stupendous views of white and inviting beaches abruptly interrupted by steep rocky cliffs diving into the sea.
Sports and leisure
For those a little bit more dynamic the Riviera offers many different opportunities.The most practiced sports are mainly those linked with the sea: sailing, windsurfing, scuba diving, water skiing. And those who want to keep themselves on form outside the water, can enjoy long horse-back or mountain bike rides on trails full of green.
Territory
Ancona: is an important centre of the secondary and tertiary sector, and is also home to the most important fishing port on the Adriatic and to the maritime fishing Research Institute. But it is also cultural and artistic centre as well as a university town, as demonstrated by the collection of paintings preserved in the Municipal Pinacoteca art gallery and the Villarei ex military barracks, refurnished and transformed into one of the most prestigious faculties of Economics and Business in Italy.
Grotte di Frasassi: a product of carsic phenomena, offer evocative scenographic effects and the walkways are smooth. The tourist can admire the impressive composition of stalagmites, fairy lake, labyrinths, windings with low ceiling and rich of different concretions.
Loreto: is one of the most important cities for religious pilgrinage in the catholic woeld. Inside of the beautiful sanctuary ypu fill find the Holy House of Nazareth, an experience you just can't pass up when you visit the Marche.
Recanati: here were born the great tenor Beniamino Gigli, the motorcyclist Franco Uncini and Giacomo Leopardi. Inside his family’s house is possible to visit the poet’s Library.
Urbino: painter Raffaello Sanzio's birthplace, represents a pinnacle of Renaissance art and architecture, harmoniously adapted to its physical site and to its medieval precursor in an exceptional manner.
